Post-Doc Project “Religion – Nature – Imperialism: Negotiations of Worldviews and Protestant Mission in Cameroon’s Ecosystems between the 1880s and 1930s”

  • The project links the history of Protestant missions and the study of religion with the history of environment and commerce with a focus on Cameroon.
  • It examines the connectivity of ecosystems and the missionaries’ worldmaking as well as their concepts of human, gender, religion (including Islam) and the study of Africa-related religion.
  • Here, the renegotiated nature-human imaginations in ecosystems are significant for the history of racism and liberal economic systems.
